Nircmd -- Freeware command-line tool

This is a great tool that I use to in some simple batch commands. Here's an example:

SS.BAT:
@start nircmd screensaver
@exit

What this does it start the screen saver. Now I can click on >Start>Run and type SS and the screensaver will start ... very useful.

'nircmd' has various commands you can use ...

Open the door of J: CD-ROM drive	nircmd.exe cdrom open j:
Close the door of Y: CD-ROM drive	nircmd.exe cdrom close y:
Turn off the monitor	nircmd.exe monitor off
Close the door of Y: CD-ROM drive	nircmd.exe cdrom close y:

There are many other commands ... but I find these the most useful. I can type them by hand .. or create a little batch command to run.

Ok ... so for a while now .. I've felt I should be blogging. I'm in the technology field .. and I'm fairly computer literate .. so I should join in blogging. But .. I'm self-conscience about reading comments about my posts. What if people comment on this drivel ... or worse yet ... what if someone I know reads this and comments on it?!!! Could I handle the criticism?!!

Eh ... so who cares ... So now I have this ... and I'm going to try to post frequently.
